“That’s what she says. But she was like family almost? There was a closeness there, or she certainly feels it on the other side. Does she know—does he have any brothers?”
“Yes. ”
“Does she know one of his brothers?”
“ Yes. ”
“She keeps saying, ‘Hello, brother. Hello, brother.’ I don’t know what she means, but I’ll leave it with you. Again, this is a double symbol, so I’ll just ask. Would a vehicle be a symbol of accidental sudden death? Or was there a vehicle involved in her passing at all?”
“I think so,” Lucie replied. In fact Lucie really knew very little about the girl’s passing. This was incorrect, and provides an interesting example of how failure to acknowledge correctly can influence the reading. For George a vehicle is also a psychic symbol for an accidental passing. If Lucie had replied that a car had nothing to do with the girl’s death, George would then have concluded that the vehicle was being used as a symbol for something besides the obvious. Since we’ve seen from experience that a series of correct acknowledgments seems somehow to help the spirits communicate more clearly and quickly, we might conclude that the girl’s spirit “left” because oflack of response from anyone in the room, a common occurrence.
“She seems to identify with the same circumstances. I don’t think I even have to ask you this, that you pray for him, because he’s acknowledging it.”
“Oh, yes.”
“The name Charles mean anything to you?”
“Could be.”
“Passed on?”
“No.”
“Would your grandson know him?”
“Yes.”
“Anything to—Do you know this person fairly well?”
“Yes, very well.”
“Any reason for concern around him at all?”
“Not that I know of.” (In fact, George was correct. There was concern for Charles’s health. He had been paralyzed for many years.)
“Your grandson gives me his name and asks you to say hello to him.” George then paused for several seconds before asking David’s grandmother, “Do you know Dominick? Are you sure you don’t? It seems to push more to you.”
“No.”
“Think, go back. The name goes to you. I’ll just ask you to keep it in mind. ”
Again, Lucie’s emotional response to the reading experience was affecting her ability to acknowledge correctly. As Barbara informed me while we were preparing this manuscript, Lucie did know a Dominick, a relative of Lucie’s husband, Joe. Dominick had passed on many years earlier.
“I think your grandson is back now,” George said. “I’m laughing, he smiles at you and says your prayers are best because they come with great faith.
“Again,” George continued, looking directly at Darrin, “he says he’s spoken to you before. He impresses me to question you in the past tense. Have you forgiven yet? For his passing?”
“You mean, have I gotten used to the idea?” Darrin asked.
“No. He says to me, undoubtedly, he passed on at the hands of somebody else behind the wheel and he wants to know, have you forgiven that person?”
“My mind is blank,” answered Darrin, who was somewhat nervous and not very happy about even being there.
After a moment’s silence, George continued.
